The Quinoa School is a private school in Berlin-Wedding with a special goal: all young people in Germany should have the opportunity to graduate and join school, regardless of their social and cultural background. Moving Child also funded the “integrative learning therapy” project in the 2023/24 school year, which is designed to develop individual learning plans and strengthen students’ self-reflection, motivation and self-efficacy.

There is great news at the end of the 2024 school year: 100% of pupils in Years 10 a/b leave the school with a diploma. 69% achieved an intermediate school leaving certificate, 14% an extended vocational training certificate (extended secondary school leaving certificate), 13% a vocational training certificate and 4% a vocational orientation certificate.

Many of the pupils have already been placed at other schools or in an apprenticeship as part of the follow-up support.

A lot will happen before the end of the year. The Quinoa School is setting up a workshop and teaching kitchen as well as additional learning rooms for differentiated learning. At the beginning of 2025, a welcome class can finally be accepted.
